This F.A.Q. section is designed to help you understand the way Peels works, its effectiveness, and its side effects.
| Question #1 | How do I know it works?
| Answer: | Peels have been used extensively for five years and are scientifically based. They debride and rejuvenate using TCA to remove dead skin cells, azaelic acid to act as an antioxidant and salacetic acid to promte new cell growth. Kojic acid will suppress melanocytes to help prevent hyperpigmentation; and the content of vitamin C will promote collagen production. |
| Question #2 | How do I prepare for this procedure?
| Answer: | Your aesthetic practitioner will evaluate your skin type, skin condition and the severity of any discolorations, wrinkling, scarring or age spots to pick the type of chemical peel that is appropriate for you. After making this determination, he or she will provide you with specific instructions on how to prepare for your chemical peel. It is important to be honest with your nurse about your medical history and your hopes and expectations.

| Question #3 | What does the treatment entail?
| Answer: | The first stage of treatment will involve applying to the skin a solution to achieve a uniform ph. The gel will then be applied. The patient may feel tingling or a slight burning sensation depending on the strength of the treatment required. This stage only lasts a few minutes and is easily tolerated. A cream mask will then be applied to the skin, which has both a soothing and renewal action. Finally a highly hydrating cream will be applied.
Following the treatment there will be a period of skin exfoliation followed by the renewal stage.

| Question #4 | What results can I expect?
| Answer: | The renewed skin will be fresher, softer and smoother. There will be a clear improvement in the complexion and luminosity. Slight wrinkles or marks will be reduced or disappear, removing those imperfections caused by ageing, acne or the sun.

| Question #5 | How long does the procedure take?
| Answer: | A light peel usually only takes about 10 minutes to complete. To achieve your desired results, further peels may need to be scheduled at regular intervals. Medium peels normally take about 15 minutes to treat the entire face. Two or more peels spaced over several months may be required to achieve your goal. |
